The Catholic Foundation's 50th Year Anniversary gift to the people of Dallas is an open-air plaza in the new Dallas Arts District across from the Meyerson Symphony Center, and adjacent to the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Each fall a new piece of art is installed in this unique urban oasis following a rigorous competition among local artists. Listed below are previous the winners of The Catholic Foundation Art Competition:
2006-07: “Celebrate Life, Celebrate Art,” Marty Ray
2007-08: “Trumpeting Angel,” Ann Cushing Gantz
2008-09: “Magic Carpet,” Pamela Nelson
2009-10: “Music on Parade,” David Zvanut
2010-11: “Downtown Playground,” J. Lynn Kelly
2011-12: “Dallas in Wonderland,” Rebecca Guy
The sixth annual Catholic Foundation Plaza Art Competition was completed in September and the winning artwork “Dallas in Wonderland” by Rebecca Guy was unveiled at a special reception at Catholic Foundation Plaza on Thursday, October 13th. The winning artwork will be on display until October 2012.
In addition to the winning artwork, four Honorable Mention Winners were named: Theresa Thornhill's “By Note and by Brushstroke”, Susan Lecky's “A Bouquet for Dalla”, Hank Black's “Wings of Delight” and Charles Facial's “Life's Dance to Victory” received this honor.

back to topThe Catholic Foundation has developed an annual Advisors Series for Wealth and Estate Management Professionals to provide quality continuing education opportunities for our local professional advisor community. Outstanding professionals of national renown lead the seminars and provide current intelligence on many of the most pressing legal and financial considerations involved in wealth management and estate planning, particularly with regard to philanthropic considerations.
