Texas Catholic Letters

Mr. Tom Codd
Dallas, Texas

Dear Tom,

The Board of Trustees of The Catholic Foundation is pleased you have agreed to become a member of the Board. The selection of new trustees is always a difficult process because there are so many talented and dedicated individuals serving our Catholic community. We are particularly pleased that you will be joined by Jennifer Staubach Gates, Chuck Kobdish and Tom Horton. Each of you bring exceptional skills to our Board.

As we discussed during the selection process, The Catholic Foundation is committed to serving the Diocese and its institutions. We want to be able to provide the leadership and financial support that make a difference. Our vision is to meet all of the financial needs of the Diocese. To achieve that goal requires highly qualified individuals who share our commitment; that is one of the reasons you were asked to join the Board.

It is always an exciting process to bring new trustees to the Foundation and it is difficult to say goodbye to retiring trustees. Trustees Lydia Novakov and Hugh O’Brien completed nine years of service in 2007. Both made profound contributions to the future of the Foundation. Mr. O’Brien chaired the Board for two years and was instrumental in establishing our strategic direction. Mrs. Novakov chaired our 50th Anniversary celebrations which showcased our founders’ vision and 50 years of good works to the entire Dallas community. We are grateful for their service and the difference they made. I am confident you will do the same and look forward to your service as a trustee.

Sincerely,

Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
