Rev. Monsignor Thomas W. Weinzapfel
Garland, Texas

Dear Monsignor Weinzapfel,

When I heard that you were the honoree at the St. Pius X School Auction this year, I knew this was a great tribute by the parish and school you led for over 40 years as its pastor. It is very fitting that the proceeds will go towards supporting the school and providing financial aid to deserving students and families.

All of our pastors serve their parishes in very distinct and different ways and the legacy you have left to the families of St. Pius X is exceptional. You not only oversaw the building of a financially sound and beautiful parish, but you helped secure the future of its students by creating an outstanding school. You must be proud of the leadership of the school principal, Carol Newman, and the support she receives from the current pastor, Monsignor Larry Pichard.

A little known fact about your legacy is your commitment to the future of St. Pius X’s graduates by supporting their high school years at Bishop Lynch High School. You have made a permanent difference in the lives of many of the children from St. Pius X. I feel certain many were at the event to thank you.

The mission of The Catholic Foundation is helping people create lasting legacies.  We join the families of St. Pius X in thanking you for the lasting legacy you gave to the parish community. God Bless.

Sincerely,

Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
