Sister Adelaide Bocanegra
St. Joseph’s Residence
Dallas, TX
Dear Sister Adelaide,
It was a real pleasure to visit with you recently at St. Joseph’s Residence. Your almost 50 years of humble service to the residents of St. Joseph’s Residence has been a much too well- kept secret within our Catholic community.
It was easy to sense your excitement over the many improvements now underway at the residence. Under your guidance, and the enthusiastic support of Dan Flaherty, the improvements to the rooms, common areas, rest rooms and furnishings are coming fast and furious. My favorite is the beautiful fireplace that will warm the residents and welcome visitors. By the end of July, St. Joseph’s Residence will be shining like new and be a place of great comfort to the residents.
The Catholic Foundation is very pleased to be able to assist with funding for the renovations. As you know, the permanent endowment established at The Catholic Foundation by the late Monsignor John T. Gulczynski in honor of his parents Leon and Victoria has been the source of the funds. Monsignor John knew that our seniors needed a good place to live and he will be providing for that for many years through the endowment. His lasting legacy is a perfect example of the kind of permanent difference one can make by establishing a fund at The Catholic Foundation.
Thanks again for your warm hospitality and the tour. I look forward to seeing the results. I know they will be beautiful. God bless.
Very truly yours,
Ed Schaffler
