Mr. Brian Ouellette
Principal
Our Lady of Perpetual Help School
Dallas, Texas

Dear Brian,

I have been to a lot of fundraisers and auctions over the years, but I think the recent auction for Our Lady of Perpetual Help School was one of the more entertaining ones. Of course, you know I am talking about your rendition of “OLPH, OLPH” sung to the tune of “New York, New York.” First of all, I commend you on your singing talent and secondly on your creative lyric writing. You not only brought down the house with your act, but the amount of funds you raised for the school while doing it was impressive.

Each time I attend a fundraiser for inner city schools, such as the auction for Our Lady of Perpetual Help, I realize the magnitude of the financial needs our inner city schools and the importance for members of our greater Catholic community to provide financial support. It is no easy task delivering a quality education and meeting the financial challenges that schools such as yours face. We all need to help as well as be thankful for the efforts of our inner city school leaders such as you.

It was wonderful seeing such a great crowd supporting the fundraising effort organized by Cathy Vance and her committee. The early reports I heard were that the evening was a great success for OLPH so you better plan on bringing back your act next year! Congratulations from everyone at The Catholic Foundation on a wonderful evening.

Sincerely,

Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
