Dear Work of Heart Grand Award Winners,
Congratulations on being named a Work of Heart Grand Award winner for the Spring semester!
Each month, The Work of Heart award is given to individuals who have gone the extra mile in serving their Catholic school community. However, the Grand Awards are given to only eight individuals each year in recognition of their extraordinary love and commitment to their students, the families of their students and the entire school community. You are each very deserving honorees of the Grand Awards.
The Work of Heart awards were started three years ago by a very generous anonymous Dallas family committed to recognizing the unsung heroes in our catholic schools. Since its inception, more than 450 individuals have been honored for their exceptional service to their schools. The monthly awards and grand awards have amounted to over $350,000 and have been a great boost to the staffs of our Catholic schools. Nominations for the award are open to all and come from throughout our community. Many individuals have told me of the positive impact the program has had on the community.
I am excited to tell you that the anonymous Dallas family and The Catholic Foundation will partner in continuing the program for the 2008-09 school year. The Work of Heart is a great example of what a Donor Advised Fund at The Catholic Foundation can accomplish for both a donor and the community.
Again congratulations and I hope you have a pleasant summer. God bless.
Sincerely,
Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
