Dear Joe and Hazel,
Thank you for the invitation to the celebration of your 65th wedding anniversary. My wife and I both enjoyed the Mass and reception and particularly the renewal of your wedding vows. Sixty-five years of marriage is a wonderful milestone.
As we celebrated, I could not help but be reminded of all of the good the two of you have done for our community over the years. While I was not present when you received the 3rd Catholic Foundation Award in 1985, I am sure your many good deeds were a focal point of the evening. Both of you have set an example for us not only through the longevity of your marriage, but also because of your philanthropy. I suspect that there are not many Catholic institutions or causes within our Diocese that have not benefited from your quiet generosity. We are all thankful to you.
Joe and Hazel, you have also been great supporters of the Foundation through your interest in our works. As you know, the Catholic Foundation is here to support the community as you have done. We continually encourage individuals to follow your lead in helping our community become a better place and we have the charitable vehicles at the Foundation to help them keep charitable giving top of mind as you have done.
So, congratulations on your anniversary and thank you for your philanthropic leadership and generous support of our community. God bless you.
