Mr. and Mrs. David Walker
Dallas, Texas
Dear David and Julia,
Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and everyone’s spirits seem to be raised in anticipation. The child in all of us returns for just a little while as we celebrate the day and appreciate what we have been given by the birth of Christ. I hope you are enjoying this time of the year as much as all of us are at The Catholic Foundation.
Christmas is a giving time of year and the two of you have certainly raised our spirits at the foundation with your generous gift. While you said you were just sharing the “good year” you had in your business endeavors, what you are really doing is making that “good year’ last for a long time. We are excited that you have designated your gift to the unrestricted fund at the Foundation. In 2007, the unrestricted fund accounted for over 40 grants amounting to $1.3 million to organizations and ministries all over the nine counties of the Diocese. I think each recipient will tell you that they received a little bit of Christmas when they learned of their grant even though it may have been in March or October. Your gift is going to help make that kind of good news possible for many years to come.
David and Julia, please accept our sincerest thanks as well as our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New year. God Bless.Sincerely,
Edwin M. Schaffler
President and Chief Executive Officer
