Circle Of Life Seminar Helps People Discuss How Final Wishes Can Be Honored

“THE CONVERSATION: A Catholic Perspective on Circle-of-Life Issues” continues this March, and you're invited to attend our next information-packed and free seminar on Saturday, March 11th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas.


John Paul II High School Junior Charlotte Blank Receives Hal Tehan Scholar Award

John Paul II High School junior Charlotte Blank has been named the 26th annual recipient of the Hal Tehan Scholar Award. Each year, all local Catholic high schools may nominate a junior student who exemplifies Catholic values, actively participates, contributes to the community and is generally in the top five percent of his or her class. As the top honoree, Charlotte will receive a $10,000 scholarship for her senior year and each of the seven other nominees will receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Despite different missions, having the word Catholic in both The Catholic Foundation and Catholic Charities Dallas names causes some people to confuse the two organizations. Dan Odom To Lead The Catholic Foundation Board Of Trustees

The Catholic Foundation Board of Trustees has elected Dan Odom as chairman of its board, succeeding Aileen Pratt who served as board chair the past two years. The board also elected three new trustees, Elsa Alcalá Grivas, Rick Martinez and Maria Castañón Moats. Odom will serve a two-year term and the new trustees will serve two, three-year terms ending in 2028.

It’s rare to meet someone who has experienced as much in life as Jack Pratt, the 40th annual Catholic Foundation Award honoree. Jack will be recognized on Saturday, Feb. 4 during The Catholic Foundation Award Dinner at the Hilton Anatole Dallas. The evening will showcase Jack’s Christian example and enormous philanthropic impact made throughout the Dallas area.

Since Palm Sunday 2020, The Catholic Foundation has been honored to serve as the presenting sponsor of the weekly televised Mass. In hundreds of hand-written letters sent by donors both Catholic and non-Catholic, people shared how the televised Mass has brought God, and love, into their home.


University of Dallas Receives $1 Million Lily Endowment Grant to Renew Liturgical Preaching for Young Catholics

The Institute for Homiletics at the University of Dallas was recently awarded a $1 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. to help renew liturgical preaching and better reach Catholic youth and young adults. The Institute is a collaborative endeavor of The Catholic Foundation (Dallas) and the University of Dallas.

North Texas Artist Robert Opel's "Wings of Joy" Wins Catholic Foundation's 2022 Art On The Plaza Competition

The Catholic Foundation has named Robert Opel of Garland, Texas, the 17th winner of its annual Art On The Plaza competition. Opel’s artwork, “Wings Of Joy,” was unveiled today on the 28-by-9-foot public art wall in The Catholic Foundation Plaza and will remain on display for one year in the downtown Dallas Arts District.
