The Good Word Wraps Up 2019

We hope those of you who received a hard copy of the most recent copy of The Good Word newsletter at home or business enjoyed the content. We continue to receive positive response about the new, larger tabloid format introduced earlier this year.

The Giving Season

We all blinked, and January 2020 awaits in just 2 ½ weeks. As Advent, Christmas and New Year’s Eve plans are fulfilled, the end of the year also presents a unique, often introspective, time to evaluate decisions about investments, job goals or changes, health, family and personal relationships, travel and a topic near and dear to us – charitable giving.

Key areas of discussion included ways to earn media coverage and establish strong editorial relationships built upon trust.

The Catholic Foundation awarded $862,656 in grants to 19 local schools, churches and community organizations during its fall grant ceremony today at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Community, a past grant recipient of the Foundation.

More Than $850,000 To Be Awarded During Nov. 22 Grant Ceremony

Each spring and fall, The Catholic Foundation provides grants to organizations that meet the physical and spiritual needs of the Catholic community throughout the Diocese of Dallas and the region. The fall award ceremony will take place Friday, November 22 at 11 a.m. at past grant recipient, St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Community in McKinney, as grants are awarded to North Texas churches, schools and community organizations.

Seeking a Spring 2020 Grant? Letters of Intent are Due Nov. 21

To streamline our grant application process, we introduced a new step last spring known as a Letter of Intent (LOI) that enables grant seekers the opportunity to share project summaries before submitting a full grant application. This helps us determine whether organizations and projects are of interest and eligible for grant consideration.

"Saint Peter's Fish" Wins Annual Art Competition

We celebrated our “A Year On The Plaza” art dedication and unveiling Oct. 16 in the heart of the Dallas Arts District. Congratulations to North Texan Kimberley Peterson, our 2019 art competition winner for her piece "Saint Peter's Fish" that will be on display for one year at The Catholic Foundation Plaza in the Dallas Arts District.
