Online Webinar Series Provides Catholic Perspective on End-of-Life Issues
All are welcome to attend one or all four free online seminars involving End-of-Life issues from a Catholic perspective in September.
The online webinar series, “THE CONVERSATION: A Catholic Perspective on End-of-Life Issues” begins on Monday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. The three other webinars take place on Thursday, Sept. 17, Monday, Sept. 21 and Thursday, Sept. 24.
Conversations about illness, death and dying are never easy. Whether death comes suddenly or after prolonged illness, most of us are not comfortable discussing our medical wishes or end-of-life plans with our loved ones.
However, being prepared ensures that your final wishes are followed. It is important for you and your loved ones to understand the Church’s teachings on end-of-life decisions. Advance planning on your part keeps your family from having to make these difficult decisions in a time of crisis.
The free, online webinar series is for people of all ages and life situations: singles, parents of young families, those caring for aging parents and those facing illness or death and will not involve a solicitation.
The webinar series will feature the following five topics and speakers:
• Pastoral Care of the Sick and Dying with Fr. Jason Cargo, of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson
• Legal Considerations: Ensuring Your Wishes are Followed with Michael F. Lynch from Malouf Lynch Jackson & Swinson, P.C.
• Principles of Catholic Bioethics with Fr. Peter Fonseca of the Archdiocese of St. Louis,
• Funeral Service & Cemetery Planning with Chris Taylor at Dignity Memorial, and
• Charitable Legacy Planning with Michael George of The Catholic Foundation.
If you have questions about the webinar series, or wish to register over the phone rather than online, please contact Diana Fonseca with The Catholic Foundation, at 972-331-1645 or theconversation@catholicfoundation.com.
Spaces are limited, so please register at least 48 hours in advance so that program materials can be sent to you via email. After registering, you’ll receive an email with details about joining the webinar(s) you’ve selected.
