As part of its service to the community, and to enhance the visibility of both its philanthropic work and the pressing needs of the community, The Catholic Foundation hosts and sponsors a number of public and educational activities each year.

Fall Advisors Series to Focus on Recent Tax Developments

Save the date for our 13th annual Advisors Series for Estate and Wealth Management Professionals at the Belo Mansion Nov. 14 in downtown Dallas.

Howard M. Zaritsky, a nationally-recognized expert on estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer taxes, fiduciary income taxes, estate planning and estate administration, will present "The Year in Review: An Estate Planner's Perspective on Recent Tax Developments."

Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. The program will take place from 8 to 10:30 a.m. with a break, and offers two hours of continuing education credit.

December Catholic Community Network

In early September, three Dallas-area non-profit professionals spoke at our quarterly Catholic Community Network at our offices.

Our panel of three experts discussed the importance of good development and fundraising, and what it looks like, to the success of a non-profit enterprise. Topics included major gift asks and donor relations, prospecting and capital campaigns.
Our panelists were:
B.J. Antes, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Jesuit College Preparatory School – Dallas 
Kevin Fitzpatrick, Director of Development, Heroic Media, and 
Kris Muñoz Vetter, Executive Director, Year Up, Dallas/Fort Worth

On December 4, a networking light breakfast will take place from 7:30 to 8 a.m. followed by our guest presentation from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

Art Dedication and Unveiling

We'll be announcing the winner of our 14th annual Year On The Plaza Art Competition in a Facebook Live event on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. from downtown Dallas.

Spring grant recipients

Fall Grant Award Ceremony in November

Each spring and fall, The Catholic Foundation provides grants to organizations that meet the physical and spiritual needs of the Catholic community throughout the Diocese of Dallas and the region.

The fall award ceremony will take place November 22 at 11 a..m. at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Community in McKinney as grants are awarded to North Texas churches, schools and community organizations. 

The grants support a number of initiatives including a variety of building renovations and enhancements, technology upgrades and projects that serve the greater community.
