Jack Pratt to Receive 2023 Catholic Foundation Award

Jack Pratt

Entrepreneurial mind, servant’s heart and memories of the Great Depression steer philanthropic path for Foundation’s 40th honoree to be celebrated at the February 4, 2023, Catholic Foundation Award Dinner.

Jack E. Pratt, Sr., founder and retired chairman and CEO of Hollywood Casino Corporation and the developer of multiple successful hotels, casinos, commercial and residential buildings and restaurant chains in the U.S., Mexico, South America, Australia and the Caribbean, has been named the 40th Catholic Foundation Award honoree.

Pratt will be recognized on February 4, 2023, during The Catholic Foundation Award Dinner at the Hilton Anatole Hotel, for his Christian example and enormous philanthropic impact made throughout the Dallas area.

Dan Odom To Lead The Catholic Foundation Board of Trustees

The Catholic Foundation Board of Trustees has elected Dan Odom as chairman of its board, succeeding Aileen Pratt who served as board chair the past two years. The board also elected three new trustees, Elsa Alcalá Grivas, Rick Martinez, and Maria Castañón Moats. Odom will serve a two-year term and the new trustees will serve two, three-year terms ending in 2028.

“Dan brings business acumen, fluency of the local philanthropy landscape, and compassion that he pours into The Catholic Foundation,” said Matt Kramer, president, and CEO of The Catholic Foundation. “We welcome Dan, Elsa, Rick, and Maria in their new roles that will build upon the success of past boards. They will each help us fulfill the charitable and legacy giving goals of donors in ways that positively impacts churches, schools, and charitable organizations for years to come.”

Donors of The Catholic Foundation were recognized during a Mass celebrated by Bishop Edward J. Burns at the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe, followed by a reception that honored them at the Arts District Mansion in downtown Dallas.
