Eden Pacayra of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Named Work of Heart Honoree

Students and staff at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School in Dallas can attest that Mrs. Eden Pacayra, middle school science department chair and teacher, is a bonified rockstar for countless reasons.

These are just three things some of her coworkers have to say about our newest Work of Heart honoree we recognized today after the children’s end of fall semester Mass.

  • “She is always fair and doesn’t overlook one person. She has impacted my life and has set an example of kindness, honesty, and workmanship.”
  • “She always shines God’s light with her kindness. She always gives you multiple ways to study, offers tutoring in the morning, and goes over the test before you take it.”
  • “She embodies Christian values in her generous spirit, her willingness to help others without expecting anything in return, her kindness, and her humble nature. She always makes time to listen, empathize and pray for anyone who comes to her with problems. “

Over the past 18 years, nearly 1,400 Work Of Heart Awards have been presented by The Catholic Foundation to full-time employees who work at schools within the Diocese of Dallas, totaling about $800,000 in awards to those honored.

The Work of Heart honor recognizes full-time Catholic school employees for three reasons:

  • To honor Catholic school employees who display outstanding service,
  • To recognize employees who model a Christian example, and
  • To celebrate employees who go above and beyond to support students, families and our Dallas-area community.
