Televised Mass Central To Homebound Ministry of Catholic Diocese of Dallas

When shelter-in-place pandemic guidelines closed area churches in March 2020, The Catholic Foundation in Dallas was honored to serve as the presenting sponsor of the weekly English and Spanish televised Mass of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas every Sunday morning.

The Foundation remains grateful to donors, past and present, for enabling us to serve as the presenting financial sponsor for more than 2 ½ years.

We are grateful for the continuation of the televised Masses of the Diocese. We also feel humbled when members of our team are invited to serve as lectors for the televised Mass which is how these photographs were obtained during a fall recording session at the National Shrine Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

In 2023, the Diocese of Dallas chose to fund the weekly televised Masses in English and Spanish to connect people who are sick and or homebound with their parish communities and the televised and digital outreach via social media remains a huge blessing.

“We’re grateful to have been able to respond to the early needs of the Diocese during the peak of the pandemic and help cover the cost of getting the Masses on TV for easy access to those homebound or hospitalized,” said Matt Kramer, president and CEO of The Catholic Foundation. “Our ongoing prayer is for people to support the Diocese and its homebound ministry.”

Funds previously earmarked for the televised Masses in 2023 are distributed to churches, schools and charitable organizations as part of the Foundation’s grant distribution program.
