Submissions Open For 16th Annual Art On The Plaza Competition

It’s not every day your artistic masterpiece adorns a 28 x 9 foot public wall in the middle of the arts district of America’s 9th largest city.

But that high profile honor, plus $2,500, awaits one talented Texas artist who wins this year’s 16th annual Catholic Foundation Art on the Plaza competition. Honorable mention winners will receive $250.

“I’m grateful for this competition and the opportunity it provides for artwork to come to life. I highly encourage other artists to participate in this year’s competition,” says 2020 winner Robyn Jorde whose artwork, Continuo, is displayed in The Catholic Foundation Plaza adjacent to the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

All Texas artists, 18 years or older, are invited to participate in the competition.

Submission guidelines can be viewed on the Catholic Foundation Art Competition webpage.

The submission deadline is September 9, and a panel of members from the local arts community will review all entries. The winning piece will be dedicated on the Plaza art wall in October.
